Coming Attractions: A Passion for Giving

in Coming Attractions: A Passion for Giving

I’ve had the opportunity to read several biographies of wealthy people.  I’ve also been privileged to meet several wealthy people in person.  Almost without exception, when these people talk about their happiest moments, they don’t talk about making money.  Instead, their happiest moments occur when they are giving their money away.

Filmmaker Robin Baker Leacock captures this joy in her film, A Passion for Giving.  She explores the issue of philanthropy by interviewing many prominent philanthropists as well as everyday people who give both their money and their time.  Why do they give and what do they get in return?

Leacock also talks to the recipients of charitable giving.  What do philanthropic gifts mean to them and how have these gifts changed their lives?

A Passion for Giving is a film about kindness, generosity and helping others.  It is also a timely film, considering how many people find themselves in need all over the world.  The film will air on PBS stations throughout November.  For a listing of times in your area, visit A Passion for Giving website.
